What
is anonymous email?
The ability to send email without revealing your
identity to the recipient.

How
does it work?
As
a visitor to Advicebox, you send an email using
our web interface. No trace of your identity is
given to the email's intended recipient. Your identity
is not revealed, as all trails lead back to Advicebox,
not the sender. In essence, Advicebox is the sender.
Imagine
a public telephone, where many individuals place
calls from the same location. All the calls sent
from that phone can only be traced back to that
phone's location, but not the sender.
When
an individual signs up for an email account with
Yahoo or Hotmail, they are creating a unique account,
represented by Bob123@yahoo.com for example.
In such a case, not only is identifying information
passed through the headers of the email, it is very
easy to track the email back to the sender, since
only one unique individual could be sending from
Bob123@yahoo.com
At
Advicebox, all email is sent from one address, anonymous@advicebox.com.
So again, like the public telephone example,
there is no way for the recipient to trace the email
back to the sender, since it could have been anyone
of our many members whom sent the email.
Is
there any possible way the recipient of my email
would be able to find out my identity?
No,
not from our service. The only way one can be
identified is through the information you provide
in the message of your email. It should be noted
that Advicebox does cooperate with all legal authorities,
so if you send an anonymous email that ends up
in the hands of legal authorities for violating
the law, Advicebox will assist by providing information
contained on our server logs. For more info, see

Will
Advicebox.com under any circumstances release the names
of its users?
OK, looks like
the anonymous issue needs to be addressed. First,
everyone curious about whether Advicebox will give
out the names of the senders should read the privacy
policy. It clearly states that except in such cases
where a law has been broken, ADVICEBOX WILL NOT.
Second, and most importantly, Advicebox will ONLY
deal with the proper legal authorities in regards
to these cases. Advicebox will not, under any circumstances,
release the names of its users to members of the
general public.

Can I block my email from your
service?
Yes. We have included this feature
to help prevent abuse of the Advicebox service.
For whatever reason, if you desire to prevent visitors
of advicebox from sending you anonymous email, click
here.

How does the block work?
The block form will include your email in a database
solely designed to block anonymous emails sent from
this service. Without your correct email submitted
through this form it is impossible to block your
email from this service. If you have numerous email
accounts and desire all of them to be blocked, you
will need each account seperately.

What if I change my mind,
can I unblock my email too?
If you ever wish to unblock your email, you will
need to email support@advicebox.com.
However, do to potential abuse of our service, we
will delay all unblocking requests by 30 days from
the date of blocking. This policy is in place to
protect our users and our service.
(note: the request needs to be made from the same
email you wish to unblock).

Most
certainly NOT! This service is to be used by responsible
individuals, if you are not a responsible individual,
you should not be using this service. Users take
full responsibility for the content of their messages
and users must agree to the Advicebox
Terms of Service before every email send.

Advicebox cooperate with legal authorities?
Yes,
but only legal authorities. Advicebox will
cooperate fully with legal authorities regarding
the use of our service for illegal activities. If
Advicebox determines our Terms
of Service have been violated, we will hand
over all server log information corresponding to
the violation. To protect our users, Advicebox deals
directly with all legal authorities and only with
legal authorities.

Is membership still anonymous?
Yes, even though you must login every visit to
Advicebox, your email is being sent with ZERO identifiers
to the recipient. The username and password you
created at signup opens a secure door to our members'
area. Once this door is open, you are free to send
email, view your replybox, or try out other enhanced
features. Understand that members log into the members'

is the Advicebox Replybox?
Advicebox's new Replybox! feature lets you
see what people think about the advice you send.

How
does it work?
By choosing the Replybox feature you are creating
a unique, private page where your recipient can
reply to the anonymous emails you send them. A
quick and easy explanation can be found here,
for a more in depth explanation, please read on.
Please
explain further how the Replybox feature works?
It
works like this:
At
the point of composing your email, you will
be asked to create a new Replybox or use an
existing one.
If
you chose to use an existing one, you must
input the appropriate Replybox ID# and its
corresponding Shared Password. By doing this,
you can add your anonymous message to a previously
started Replybox.
If
you chose to create a new one, you will need
to create a Shared Password. You will also
have the option of submitting a valid email
for notification purposes. If you chose to
submit a valid email, you will be notified
everytime your Replybox receives new posts.

Does
the recipient see the password I created?
No, the recipient and the sender use
different passwords. The sender uses the password
they created when they sent the anonymous email
and the recipient uses a random, unique password
that was generated for them by the Advicebox system.

address?
The notification system is there to
assist you. By submitting your email to our secure
servers, Advicebox will continually keep you up
to date on the number of replies in your Replybox.
